The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy’s Young Exhibitors’ SchemeTHE YES! PROGRAMME - THE ROLE OF CLUBS & SHOW MANAGERSThe support of GCCF area and breed clubs is vital to the success of this programme and we hope they will continue to back Show Managers who wish to organise YES! Presentations at their shows. It will be by capturing and engaging the interest and enthusiasm of young people for showing with the GCCF that we can all ensure a viable future for our hobby. REQUIREMENTS AT SHOWSYES! Presentations require space for a table at a show where the candidates may demonstrate their knowledge of and care for their cat and for the assessing judge to sit close by in order to make an assessment. They will need kitchen roll and disinfectant in a similar manner to BIS. There is often space close to the Best in Show pens during show day where such an event could take place and the Presentations could provide added interest for exhibitors and visitors. REQUIREMENTS BEFORE SHOW DAYShow Managers will need to provide "Young Exhibitor Scheme Presentation" classes in the schedule. Candidates would need to pay for entry into the relevant class as an "additional" class rather than the "Open + 3" usually paid for. One of the listed judges in the YES! Programme would be allocated the class(es) in a similar manner to other Miscellaneous/Club classes. The Judge List for Presentations may be found at http://gccf-yes.co.uk/ and will be updated as new judges join the scheme. YES! ASSESSMENT FORMSThe Judge Assessment Forms for YES! Presentations will be available from the GCCF Office when the Show Manager orders the other certificates required for the show. It is suggested presentations take place after Open Classes are completed but before Best of Variety or Best in Show judging. Make sure different Assessment Forms are ordered for each level required. ANNOUNCING THE YES! PRESENTATIONSThe candidates will need to be called to the presentation table with a simple, non-identifying announcement such as, "Will the owner of cat number xxx please take their cat to the Presentation Area?" WHAT HAPPENS TO THE ASSESSMENT FORMS?The judge's comments will be handed to the candidate after the assessment is completed. The candidate is given 2 copies. The top copy will be for their folder, the second will be forwarded to the YES! Administrators and the assessing judge will retain the third copy.
